PLAYit! Manchester 2015: Gaming Expo. Retro Games, Classic Arcades, Modern Consoles – Review

I sampled 30 years of video gaming in 90 minutes at PLAY It! Manchester (at the Museum of Science and Industry). Come and see what I thought of some 80’s classics, some retro gaming and the latest from Oculus!

The event runs from 25th July to 9th August 2015 (see http://www.mosi.org.uk/whats-on/play-it-manchester.aspx for tickets) and is great fun for anyone interested in games – like me!

I took my sister as well as my mum and dad and we got to play on the Pac-Man arcade, Asteroids on the Vectrex, games on the Atari 2600, classic NES and Master System games, the original Mario Kart, Tomb Raider, Minecraft, Halo and a whole lot more; including an Oculus Rift!

There are 6 themed zones with more than 120 games and consoles and, because they limit the number of tickets per session, it’s not too busy and you hardly have to queue at all! I got to play on loads of games.

It was such a fun day and would love to do it again. Let me know what you think in the comments.
