What’s In the Lucky Gecko Discovery Box? We Look at These Educational “Loot Crates”
Comments : 2 Posted in : Reviews on by : Fat Dad
This week we were sent not one, not two but three(!) boxes from Lucky Gecko (http://www.luckygecko.com). They are called ‘Discovery Boxes’ and are designed to help young people (KS2 level) to learn in different ways. Developed by a private tutor, the boxes contain various toys and activities as well as a great booklet that pulls everything together into a unique learning experience.
There are three types of box for three different types of learning and each month the boxes have a theme – this month’s theme is ornithology (the study of birds). The three types of Discovery Box are as follow:
WISDOM: designed to help students that are coming up to exams; boost confidence and core skills as well as providing stress release and exam/revision techniques.
IMAGINATION: uses stories and creative thinking to explore the world.
CURIOSITY: practical exploration of the world for students who find traditional classroom teaching difficult.
In this video Oscar reviews the Wisdom and Curiosity sets. Phoebe reviews the Imagination box in a separate video.
A full written review, along with parent’s thoughts, will be posted on the website at http://OscarsReviews.co.uk.
For full details about Lucky Gecko Discovery Boxes and how to subscribe see their website at http://www.luckygecko.com/
NOTE: We were sent these items free of charge for the purpose of this review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.
